SUMMARY:European Space Agency Post-graduate Research Grant Programme
DESCRIPTION:The European Space Agency (ESA) Grant Programme aims to encourage original 
 research on any aspect of the history of the ESA and its predecessor organi
 sations.\nTwo grants of EUR 5000, funded by ESA and administered by the Eur
 opean University Institute (EUI), may be awarded each year to support resea
 rch based on the historical fonds of the organisation (https://archives.eui
 .eu/en/fonds#CorporateBodies) that are deposited at the Historical Archives
  of the European Union. \nSelected candidates enjoy a unique research exper
 ience at the HAEU, embedded in the international scholarly community of the
  EUI in Florence.\nEligibilityThe grant competition is open to post-graduat
 e students and early career academics in history and other social sciences 
 and humanities who are either nationals of or are affiliated with an academ
 ic institution in ESA Member, Associate or Cooperating States (https://www.
 esa.int/About_Us/Corporate_news/Member_States_Cooperating_States).\nThese i
 nclude current postgraduate students (master’s and doctoral candidates), as
  well as postdoctoral researchers or university teachers who have completed

 f the European Space Agency, the development of European space research, an

  the basis for an academic publication (thesis, dissertation, book or schol
 arly article) that provides an analysis of some dimension of the ESA, Europ
 ean space research and/or Europe in space. Research projects presented by p
 ostgraduate students or postdoctoral researchers should preferably relate d
 irectly to their master’s or doctoral field of research.  \nCandidates shou
 ld be aware that most of the ESA archival holdings are in English, while so
 me are in French, German, Italian and other European languages. \nApplicati
 on Procedure and DeadlineThe next call for applications will be open from 9
  March - 1 June 2026.\nCandidates must apply through the online application

 ellence of the application file, the significance and originality of the pr
 oposed research, the feasibility of the project, the project’s relevance to

  and most importantly the necessity for using primary archival sources at t
 he HAEU.\nThe selection is based on equal treatment of applicants, with no 
 discrimination based on nationality (ethnic origin), race, colour, religion
  or other beliefs, age, disability, sexual orientation and gender of the ap
 plicants.\nGrant AwardsSuccessful applicants will receive a research grant 
 of EUR 5000.\nThe grant will be paid in two instalments:\n\n - a first inst
 alment of EUR 2000 at the start of the research, as attested by the Directo
