La ricerca si concentra sugli effetti epistemolog ici del De humani corporis fabrica (1543) di Andrea Vesalio sulla cultura d ella prima età moderna, dall’immaginario letterario ad altre forme di cono scenza. Oltre a esercitare un esteso influsso su arti visive, filosofia, ge ografia e astronomia, il metodo della dissezione e il suo precoce impatto c ulturale si misurarono dapprima, per il tramite delle Accademie umanistiche nel Cinquecento, sulle arti del discorso, e in particolar modo su filologi a, grammatica, retorica.\nSe il nucleo della riflessione si colloca primari amente nella prima età moderna (XV-XVII secolo), si prevede anche uno spaz io per interventi con una cronologia più ampia, che dalla prima età moder na traguardino all’età contemporanea. Il Convegno internazionale Il corpo del testo e le sue parti: anatomia, letteratura e linguaggio nella pr ima età moderna e oltre intende mettere in pratica il dialogo in terdisciplinare alla base del progetto «La civiltà de ll’anatomia»: il genere delle Anatomie letterarie nell’Italia del Seicento< /em>. La ricerca si concentra sugli effetti epistemologici del De humani corporis fabrica (1543) di Andrea Vesalio sulla cultur a della prima età moderna, dall’immaginario letterario ad altre forme di c onoscenza. Oltre a esercitare un esteso influsso su arti visive, filosofia, geografia e astronomia, il metodo della dissezione e il suo precoce impatt o culturale si misurarono dapprima, per il tramite delle Accademie umanisti che nel Cinquecento, sulle arti del discorso, e in particolar modo su filol ogia, grammatica, retorica.

Se il nucleo della riflessione si colloca primariamente nella prima età moderna (XV-XVII secolo), si prevede anche uno spazio per interventi con una cronologia più ampia, che dalla prima et à moderna traguardino all’età contemporanea. Nell’ambito delle riflession i metodologiche e della prospettiva interdisciplinare, il Convegno si propo ne in particolare di discutere temi quali:

• Il rapporto tra la stori a del pensiero medico/anatomico e la storia della lingua italiana;
• L ’elaborazione e l’evoluzione del lessico anatomico moderno;
• I generi letterari dell’anatomia (nello scambio scientifico, nell’insegnamento, nel la divulgazione);
• La presenza e diffusione del linguaggio medico/ana tomico nella poesia e nella prosa dell’epoca;
• La medicina/anatomia c ome metafora nelle arti discorsive;
• Il ruolo delle accademie scienti fiche e umanistiche, con particolare attenzione al ruolo normativo delle ac cademie linguistiche nella modernizzazione del linguaggio medico.

The international Conf erence The Body of the Text and its Parts: Anatomy, Language, and Academies in the Early Modern Age and Beyond intends to put into practice the interdisciplinary dialogue at the basis of the ongoing project  «The Civilisation of Anatomy»: the genre of Literary Anatomies in Seventeenth-century Italy. The research foc uses on the epistemological effects of Andrea Vesalius’ De humani corporis fabrica (1543) on early modern culture, from the literar y imagination to other forms of knowledge. Besides a broad influence on the visual arts, philosophy, geography, and astronomy, the method of dissectio n and its early cultural impact were first measured, through the humanistic academies in the 16th century, on the arts of discourse, above all philolo gy, grammar, and rhetoric.

While the core of the reflection lies prim arily in the early modern age (15th-17th cent.), a space for interventions with a broader chronology is nevertheless envisaged, starting from the earl y modern age to the contemporary age. Within the framework of the methodolo gical reflections and the interdisciplinary perspective, the Conference aim s in particular to discuss topics such as:

• Relationship between the history of medical/anatomical thought and the history of Italian language;
• Elaboration and evolution of the modern anatomical lexicon;
• Literary genres of the anatomical discourse (scientific exchange, teaching, divulgation);
• Presence and dissemination of the medical/anatomical language in the poetry and prose of that time;
• Medicine/anatomy as a metaphor in the discursive arts;
• Role of the scientific and humanis tic academies, with a specific focus on the normative role of linguistic ac ademies in the modernization of medical language.
