The Renaissance Society of America is excited to announce a new annual prize that will celebrate a journal article whose research demonstrates the relevance of Renaissance studies (1300-1700) to our contemporary world. Each year, the RSA Article Prize will have a different theme; this year’s theme is “Renaissance Ecologies.”
The RSA formally invites editors to nominate 1 journal article published any time during 2025 for consideration. The criteria for nomination are as follows:

Journal article

Published between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025

Written in any language
-
On a topic [1] within the chronological period 1300-1700 and [2] pertaining to any aspect of the yearly theme

*Winning author must join the RSA

*Winning article must be made available open access

Please note that the RSA will accept no more than 1 article nomination from a given press during an award cycle. Please coordinate with your colleagues accordingly. If we receive more than 1 nomination from a given press, we will kindly request your final nomination by January 31, 2026.
