The Renaissance Society of America is excited to announce a new annual prize that will celebrate a journal article whose research demonstrates the relevance of Renaissance studies (1300-1700) to our contemporary world. Each year, the RSA Article Prize will have a different theme; this year’s theme is “Renaissance Ecologies.”

The RSA formally invites editors to nominate 1 journal article published any time during 2025 for consideration. The criteria for nomination are as follows:

• Journal article

• Published between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025

• Written in any language

• On a topic [1] within the chronological period 1300-1700 and [2] pertaining to any aspect of the yearly theme

• *Winning author must join the RSA

• *Winning article must be made available open access

Please submit your nomination by January 31, 2026. The winner will be announced in June 2026.

Please note that the RSA will accept no more than 1 article nomination from a given press during an award cycle. Please coordinate with your colleagues accordingly. If we receive more than 1 nomination from a given press, we will kindly request your final nomination by January 31, 2026.
